ABOUT ARTIST
Anthonia Nneji is a visual artist (painter) whose paternal forebears are traditional carvers and masquerade carriers. She holds a degree (B.A hons) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She is an impressionist moving towards expressionism with paintings that depicts the pain the female body go through. Her paintings are didactic; they address health and moral issues in the society, making her do Art not just for Art sake but Art for Life’s sake.
ABOUT GALLERY
Rele was created to boost the connections between Nigeria, Africa, and international art worlds as its own international reputation has gained recognition. Their two spaces helps to create a symbolic purpose between the public and emerging artists.
