EMELIE’S JOURNAL

Journal Entry February 2018

It’s a 3 A.M. in Paris and I cannot sleep, so I’m watching re runs of France X Factor. My favorite singer got disqualified and I’m considering quitting the season. I hate when this happens, I’ll have to wait so long for next season to start and then to find someone I like. Damn it, this always happens to me.

A lot is on my mind, aside from The X Factor. Work is crazy so next week should be eventful. Let’s see, I have until Monday to wrap up a piece up for work, which should be easy enough, I just have to work really hard for one day so I don’t get too busy afterwards and end up doing a poor job. During the days between Tuesday and Thursday, I will be attending events and workshops at FIAC for another piece at La Monde, about art and how it shapes our everyday life.

It’s great that I got picked to cover this piece, because it is truly a pleasure to work on that. That doesn’t happen so often, when I get to write about stuff that I love and that matters personally to me.
On Friday, I have the big event, the grand finale. I sound sarcastic but I’m actually really excited. I’ll be interviewing several people and will probably purchase a piece for my apartment, a painting or photograph. I’m sure Luí will be pleased and it’ll also make me very happy every time I see it hanging on my wall, a reminder of the good things that happen sometime.

There’s just so much to do. I have to do laundry, pick up dry cleaning, pass by Dior and get fitted for the dress that was made specially for Friday, which sounds great but really is a pain. What I really enjoy is getting the final product and finally putting on that dress, not the fitting.

I have to be there at 2p.m., so I have the morning to work out, since I haven’t done that in a while and pass by Dior so I can get fitted. I’ll ask them to deliver the dress to my home and that problem is solved.

On Wednesday I have to be at FIAC at 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Then there’s the dinner party at Matignon from 8 p.m. to god knows when. I’ll pressure Luí into coming in with me, I need the distraction. Most work related party events shave years of my life. Thursday - FIAC event from noon until 7 p.m., pretty straight forward.
Friday - I’ll pass by the office early to write and catch up with the office since I’ve been out all week and then I’ll finally go home. Hopefully my dress will be delivered by then and I can spend some quality time with Luí, which I’m sure we’ll both be thankful for. I’m excited for Friday night!
Ok, I really need to go to bed now. My head is all over the place but writing isn’t going to help me sleep.
